Creating a standard for Clinical Pilates in health care and establishing it as a prominent modality in rehabilitation.

We want to standardize Clinical Pilates Assessments and teach other therapists to create captivating and challenging graded core exercise programs for clients of any level of function. Pilates- particularly the equipment- is the ultimate AAROM modality and should be utilized more in clinical practice not just as a treatment tool, but as a MOVEMENT SCREENING/ASSESSMENT tool. Our goal is to demonstrate how pilates can make movement accessible to any patient and establish it as a respected and highly utilized therapeutic modality in the clinical setting.

Course Objectives

  • Learn what Clinical Pilates is and how it can be utilized as an effective assessment/ screening and treatment tool in a private clinical setting

  • Learn about 4 main types of Classical Pilates equipment and repertoire that can be used in clinical practice. Repertoire will be segmented into a Beginner/Intermediate Course & Advanced Courses.

  • Students will learn how they can safely and effectively apply the pilates repertoire to their clinical practice as it relates to specific patient populations, MSK or neurological conditions etc.

  • Students will be able to demonstrate a “Clinical Pilates Assessment” and how to integrate this into their existing MSK Assessment

  • Approx. 140 exercises will be taught in the BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE COURSE

  • Students will gain confidence in how to prescribe graded core exercise programs based on their assessment findings/ movement goals for a client

“LOVED this course! Dani and Leah are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the material they are teaching which makes it a lot of fun to learn. Clinical pilates is an innovative tool to add to physiotherapy practice and I am so excited to see the difference it is going to make for my patients!”
