MScPT, BSc (Kinesiology)

Leah graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. She has worked as a physiotherapist for the Alberta Ballet School and Alberta Ballet Company and hopes to continue to use her knowledge to help benefit dancers of all ages and levels of experience at Indepth Physio.

While she specializes in dance therapy, Leah has treated a variety of patients including athletes, post-surgical, chronic pain, work related injuries, and motor vehicle accident related injuries. She is happy to treat all populations to help them return to their optimal level of function and mobility. Leah will work with you to set and achieve your goals. She brings her unique perspective, both as a long term physiotherapy patient and as a health care professional, into each clinical interaction. In addition to her formal education, Leah has also completed courses including: Ortho Level 1, Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Mulligan lower quadrant, and vestibular rehabilitation.

What you can expect from Leah: Leah is an advocate for working with her patients to develop a treatment plan that is individualized, realistic, and goal-oriented.

"Physiotherapy has always been a part of my life, I began dancing when she was four years old and had my first physiotherapy session at age eight. My major focus was training for dance competitions and dance exams (ie. RAD, Cecchetti, and ADAPT) and in addition to dance, I also played volleyball. I've been a physiotherapy patient throughout my life to manage, treat, and overcome a variety of my own injuries (including hip, shoulder, ankle, and knees) - I know first hand from my dance and sports experience that physio works!"

When not treating clients at the clinic, you can find Leah participating in spin and pilates classes, as well as playing a variety of sports including volleyball and slow-pitch.
